In an attempt to restore justice for victims of the residential schools, the impartiality and Reconciliation Commission, Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples and the Kelowna allot has stepped in.



The TRCs job is to; acknowledge the past wrong-doings and make them ordinary; Compensate victims; restore their traditions, beliefs and practices; and to mend relationships that were broken due to residential schools.
Aboriginals attending residential schools faced not only physical and sexual abuse, but also came into contact with tuberculosis and nine-fold illnesses due to malnutrition.
