Abstract
The mapping of this research is to study the influence of Negro spirituals from the eighteenth ascorbic acid upon twentieth and twenty-first centuries People of saturation religious doctrine Music. The principle behind this study rests largely on the realization that Negro spirituals during the time of black slavery functioned as a port to communicate between small groups of people.
Today, People of Color Gospel Music serves a similar function in their congregation. For example, the index of black gospel music to communicate hope, joy and delivery from current social ills that affect many People of Color communities is similar to how spirituals were used to communicate the longing for deliverance and immunity from bondage.
Through the examination of lyrics, musical notation, melodies, and rhythm of both genres, a comparison of compositional techniques will illustrate how the Negro Spiritual has had direct influence on People of Color Gospel Music.



In addition to researching theological and sociological implications of each genre, I suggest that the greater social problems and needs of each familiarity were addressed in the music of People of Color churches.
